Questions You May Have
-
If you've spent any time looking, you already know the physician coaching world is crowded. Most of it is burnout coaching and resilience training—valuable, but not what you're after if you're trying to lead better, not just cope better.
Narrow it down to coaches who focus specifically on physician leadership, and the field gets much smaller. Narrow it further to physicians who develop physician leaders—people who've actually lived the clinical reality, not just studied it—it gets smaller still. Add in those with real executive experience and the number becomes very small.
I'm also certified in the Leadership Circle Profile, the 360° assessment I use to get past self-perception and into what's actually driving your impact—for better or worse.
That combination is rare. The result is a combination of clinical credibility, executive experience, and a validated tool that makes the work concrete rather than theoretical. That's The JZ Way™—built specifically for navigating the transition from expert physician to exceptional leader.

Yes—even seasoned leaders will find actionable value. The higher you rise, the harder it gets to find anyone willing to tell you the truth about your blind spots. The Leadership Circle Profile does that regardless of title: it'll show you the reactive patterns that got buried under a track record of success, the ones your team feels but nobody's mentioned to your face. Whether you're navigating a system merger, a medical staff in open conflict, or just trying to lead differently than the last ten years taught you, The JZ Way™ gives you an honest, individualized read on what's actually driving your impact.
-
Absolutely—some of the most useful work happens before the promotion, not after it. Many physicians step into a first leadership role reactively: the offer comes, they say yes, and they figure it out under pressure while still carrying a full clinical load. Doing this work early means you walk in already knowing your own reactive patterns, instead of discovering them in your first hard meeting. You don't need a title to start improving how you lead.
-
Yes. Trust is the foundation of our work together, and everything we discuss is completely confidential.
Even if your hospital or organization covers the financial investment for your development, your conversations and growth remain confidential. I do not share your progress or discussion topics with your employer unless you specifically request and authorize me to do so.
Your coaching agreement will clearly outline the confidentiality terms so you know exactly what to expect.

Time outside of sessions is usually just a few hours a week, and it flexes depending on where you are in the work. Having been in your seat, I know exactly how demanding your calendar already is.
This isn't a new to-do list. It's changing how you handle what's already on your plate. The reflections and strategies we work on are meant to show up during your actual workday—during rounds, in the board meeting, in the hallway conversation. We’re changing how you lead.
-
To respect your schedule and maximize flexibility, standard coaching sessions are held via Google Meet.
For organizations seeking an immersive experience, dedicated in-person services can be arranged for leadership forums, executive retreats, or onsite assessment and feedback.
-
Because I work closely with each physician, I intentionally keep my coaching roster limited. This allows me to give each leader the focus and attention this work deserves.
The initial conversation is a mutual conversation about connection, readiness, and relevance.
My selection process comes down to three things:
Chemistry: Do we see leadership development similarly?
Can we establish the trust, openness and productive challenge this relationship requires?Commitment: Are you ready to invest what is required to be successful?
Impact: Do I believe I can help make a meaningful difference in how you lead and with the challenges you're facing?
If the fit is there, we can move forward. If not, I'm always glad to point you toward other people in my network who might be the right match.

Packages and services have standard pricing, which I review with you during your complimentary Leadership Connection Conversation.
We'll first make sure we're talking about the right service for your needs. If we move forward, I'll walk you through exactly what's included and the investment before you commit. No surprises.
-
Yes. Some organizations sponsor leadership development for their physicians. The first step is usually a conversation with your next-level leader or whoever oversees professional development for your organization.
-
Full payment up front isn't required. You can pay for your package in full, or for a small fee, set up an installment plan to spread out the cost.
To reserve your place, the first payment is required before your first session is scheduled.
Several secure payment options are available, including credit/debit card, ACH, or check.

I understand that medical and personal emergencies happen in a physician's life. If one comes up, let me know—I'll waive the policy on a one-time basis.
Beyond this, sessions missed or changed with less than 24 hours' notice won't be refunded or rescheduled.
True leadership development is a serious professional commitment. Before we begin, we'll have a one-on-one conversation to discuss where you are, where you want to go, and whether The JZ Way™ is the right fit for your goals.
This conversation is an opportunity for us to determine whether working together makes sense. There is no obligation to move forward.
